[ When Elphelt wakes, she will find that her crystal is glowing! Her emotion drops for the month of Octha have resonated with Empatheias' giant crystal, and a reaction has been formed.
By her door, she will find a tall flower arrangement! There is a sash that goes around it that reads "OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHIES". Wow... What's that about?
(Thank you for submitting to the Emotion Tracker!) ]
[Nanako feels super guilty that she's a day late on this, but things kind of got a little crazy for her and Yu between the holiday party and then the actual holiday of Christmas. Still, she wants Miss Elphie to know that she cares about her, and that Nanako thinks she absolutely deserves a birthday.]
[So, around mid-afternoon, Elphelt will receive a knock at her door. When she comes to answer, she won't find anyone on her doorstep, but instead a fairly small, square box with an envelope sitting on top. On the envelope is written: "To: Miss Elphie! Happy Birthday!" Inside the envelope is a folded piece of paper, a home-made birthday card! It features a hand-drawn picture of some balloons floating over a big, pink birthday cake. The card reads: "Happy Birthday to one of the nicest, most pretty ladies in the whole wide world! Big Bro and I hope you like this birthday cake! It's chocolate with vanilla frosting. I hope that's alright? There's already candles in it, too, so be sure to light them, make a wish, and then blow them out before you eat, okay?" At the bottom, the card is signed "Nanako and Yu."]
[And sure enough, inside the box is a rather competently decorated white and red frosted cake. In pink icing, the words "Happy Birthday Miss Elphie" are scrawled on the top. Sure enough, there are even candles stuck into it, too. Since neither Yu or Nanako knew how old Elphelt was turning, it seems they instead went for a simple design with the candles in a circle around the edge of the cake.]
[At first, Elphelt is surprised and confused, thinking that someone may have just gotten the wrong address or something, only for her to notice the package at the last moment.
It doesn't take long for her to read the note and realize what's inside, and she quickly starts crying.
[ it sure is! if she could see it, penny would approve. ]
I have been hearing many Otherworlders talking about "Valentine's Day". And since Valentine is your last name, I was wondering if you could tell me what it is. I'm very curious!
[Yang was honestly really touched by Elphelt sending her a gift on Valentine's Day. Now she'd made chocolate chip cookies for all her housemates as part of her gifts to them and she's got plenty left over to put into a giftbox to send Elphelt as well. There's also a card, a cute owl-shaped one with the words, "I think you're a hoot!" on the front. Inside, in Yang's loose hand-writing it reads, "You're a good egg, Elphelt" complete with a winky face and a doodle of a baby chick poking it's head out of an egg.]
Valentine-san? This is Yusuke Kitagawa. I'm sorry it's taken so long [and so is the mun and is assuming she did in fact commission him despite their total failure on the thread] but I have that sketch I promised. I wanted to run it by you before I started to color it. I'll be in the cafe at the spa, if you want to meet up.
--Oh, huh? Really? The picture of my sister? I'll be right there.
[Like, literally right there. In about 30 seconds. Being able to fly makes commuting real easy, especially when she is excited. Into the cafe she goes.]
[ Elphelt will find a special delivery at her front door (or wherever the mail carrier finds her). It's a small box, containing a snowglobe and a small handwritten note. ]
Dear Elphelt
Did you ever think you would live long enough to enjoy a second birthday? Maybe it's a sign. Maybe you'll have more of them. Maybe it's your last... Truth is, nobody knows when life will come to an end. I sure didn't. So don't waste life living with regrets - do something while you still can!
[Ding dong! It's a visit from the Christmas Corgi!
Zwei's got a package in his mouth that's wrapped in bright orange, hopefully drool-proof, paper with Yang's familiar fiery heart symbol drawn on it.
Inside are twobooks of...incredibly questionable romantic content. A note accompanying them reads:
"Happy Holidays, Elphelt.
I know you and Blake like these kinds of books so I hope you enjoy these. I saw the dragon one on the shelf and thought it looked kinda cool but apparently it's a sequel?? So I got you the first book in the series too even though I'm not sure hedgehogs are really sexy...
[If Elphelt ever wondered what Cloche dreams about, she no longer needs to worry about that! This dream is a happy one, in where it looks like it's in her room? Must be her room. There's a giant pile of stuffed animals on her bed and a flower garden outside, viewable from the window. From how fancy the room and garden look, she does look like she's of some sort of position of power. Cloche is on her bed, surrounded by her many stuffed animals - mostly Gergo, but with others too - in fact, she's holding a stuffed penguin in a fluffy winter coat, a pepen.
She starts to hum, falling backward to hold it above her head. It looks as if she had just bought it as there are bags of other Gergo merchandise strewn about the floor. Clearly she's as happy as can be, her humming turning to a song. These are things that make her the happiest, so it's little wonder that she wanted to share that with Elphelt with the shrimparoo plush on her return (those are not present, if El looks around.)
Why she's dreaming of her room and her plushie mountain is a mystery, but it's better than a nightmare.]
This room--no, this entire building, based on what she can see out the window--is not doing anything to dissuade Elphelt from treating Cloche like a princess. This is different than what Elphelt has dreamed--yes, Cloche has been in more than one dream; don't worry about it. The thought she is invading Cloche's privacy comes to mind, but this is just a dream, right?
Cloche looks so happy.]
...Cute.
[Quietly, Elphelt sits on the edge of Cloche's bed to listen to her sing.]
[ Quite suddenly, Elphelt will be greeted with an image of Ruby in the woods behind the Beacon house, throwing dirt back onto a freshly dug hole. Whatever she's burying, she seems to be quite nervous about it, going off of the energy in the mental link. She keeps looking over her shoulder, too, just to make sure no one is watching her... ]
No one has to know...I'll just hide the evidence...it'll all be okay...
[Here is Elphelt, eating a muffin, only for her to have what looks clearly like a crime scene shoved into her head. There is no other way to interpret this! She is being witness to something she should not be privy to, but closing her eyes and looking away doesn't help with something telepathically shoved into one's head.
...She should speak up, but the feeling of spying on Ruby, intentionally or not, is too embarrassing to own up to. That and, with every second, the morbid curiosity gets stronger.
