ELPHELT VALENTINE Guilty Gear PERSONALITY Elphelt is an energetic, compassionate girl. She attempts to make friends with anyone she comes across and refuses to allow anyone to feel lonely regardless of what sort of people they may be. While being sweet and kind, she is also tremendously stubborn and unrelenting in her optimism, making it very difficult to change her mind once she has set herself on a goal. She hopes to maximize her womanhood and find true love, but tends to fail in all her endeavors. Being artificial, Elphelt longs to become a real girl. She is jealous of the love, emotions, beauty, and life humans have, but feels no animosity towards anyone for this. It is this longing to be real that causes her to feel inadequate and compare herself to others, but also fuels her (often misguided) attempts to becoming more woman-like and find love. The personality Elphelt shows is technically a false one created meant to allow her to infiltrate human society. Her real personality is that of a calculating, emotionless machine capable of mass destruction with no remorse. Her 'false' personality was corrupted and has become the dominant one, but the powers and programming she has sealed away are still at risk of resurfacing. HISTORY Valentines are artificial beings created by their Mother, the Universal Will, in hopes of reviving the God of Destruction and exterminating humanity. They are created not on Earth but in the Backyard, the parallel dimension that does not have form but is instead pure information. This information acts as the basis of the real world, like the code behind a computer program. Elphelt was created at some point prior to the events of Guilty Gear Overture (set in 2184) and Guilty Gear Xrd (set in 2187) by the Universal Will. Unlike the previous Valentines, she was programmed with emotions, false memories, and set up to marry a death metal singer as part of the Unviersal Will's plan to create a Valentine capable of infiltrating human society. On her wedding day, her programming malfunctioned and she tried to rebel against the Universal Will in hopes of saving humanity. She assisted King Ky Kiske in the capture of her sister, Ramlethal, and attempted to convince her sister to join the forces against their mother. At some point, she infilitrated an United Nations' black ops research facility on Cyprus and stole their illegal anti-Valentine magitech to arm herself. Unfortunately, in the end, Elphelt unconsciously performed the Universal Will's task of observing Sol Badguy and sabotaging any of his attempts to destroy the incapacitated body of the God of Destruction, Justice. When her mission was completed (when Justice's body was acquired by the Universal Will) she reverted to her true programming and attacked Sol Badguy and the Illyrian forces. Her false personality was capable of overriding the Universal Will's programming after being incapacitated by Sol Badguy and reasoned with. At this point, her mother kidnapped her; Elphelt attempted to kill herself to foil the Universal Will's plans, but she was stopped by Ramlethal. Elphelt was placed in a dreamlike reality by Bedman in hopes of keeping her unconscious while the Universal Will initiated her final plans. She was able to realize that she was unconscious and broke out of the spell, only to realize she was fused with Justice's body, waiting to be used to become the God of Destruction. Her mother hoped to toy with and eventually break her, as evidenced of draining all color from Elphelt's body and clothes, as well as etching the phrases 'NO ONE CARES' and 'NOTHING MATTERS' into her dress'. Even so, she attempted to plead with her mother to give up on exterminating humanity and cursed her when she belived her mother killed her sister. In the end, she was saved by Sol Badguy and the Kiskes, as well as Ramlethal who had recovered from the attempt on her life in time to assist. With the defeat of the Universal Will and Justice no longer being able to be revived, Elphelt and Ramlethal were adopted into the Kiske family. Being a clone of Sol Badguy's lover, he was now something between a father and an older brother to her, while Dizzy--daughter to Sol and Justice--was something between a sister and a niece. Elphelt and her sister were expecting to be punished or abandoned for being Valentines, but instead were accepted by their new family. ABILITIES FLIGHT.
